#StopAsianHate

This art project stems from a discussion on clubhouse due to the recent fatal assault in Atlanta. In the spirit of co-existence, 5 artists of different ethnicities and descent banded together to create a collaborative artwork to help raise funds for people who have been subjected to racial injustice through physical and verbal abuse.

With the spike in hate crimes and abuse towards minorities and immigrants on the rise, we hope that we can leverage the use of social media and play a small part in spreading the message of anti-racism through art. Hate begets violence as people of color are stereotyped and ostracized. Through the use of natural elements, saturated colors and anthropomorphic characters, we hope to exude a sense of positivity and to suggest that we as a species, are all part of an ecosystem and we can all learn to recognize and accept our differences or even celebrate them and leave social injustice behind for good.

100% of proceeds from this project, including the platform/service fees, will be donated to AAPI Women Lead (https://www.imreadymovement.org) on 14 April 2021 (GMT+8) and the transaction will be posted on Instagram/Twitter. Please show your support, download our poster and share it with your friends.

About AAPI Women Lead

"AAPI Women Lead and #ImReady Movement aims to strengthen the progressive political and social platforms of Asian and Pacific Islander communities in the US through the leadership of self-identified AAPI women and girls. Our goal is to challenge and help end the intersections of violence against and within our communities. We do this work in solidarity with other communities of color.

The #ImReady Movement raises visibility around self-identified AAPI women and our experiences with #MeToo, racial discrimination, war, immigration, and more. It also celebrates the leadership and power of AAPI women in Education, Business, Technology, and Politics. At the conferences, we bring together AAPI women leaders and our supporters to learn from one another, tell our stories, and highlight our diverse leadership stories."
